Who Will Be The No. 1 Prospect In 2027?
Though our Top 100 Prospects list for 2026 has only just arrived, here at Baseball America, we’re already looking ahead to the future. And with our top three prospects for 2026 expected to graduate next season, it raises an interesting question: Who will be the No. 1 prospect heading into 2027?
To answer it, we surveyed the BA staff for predictions ranging from a couple of our favorite candidates to a few prospects further down the list with longer odds.

Our annual preseason Top 100 Prospects list is a culmination of industry feedback, reporting and lots of healthy debate amongst the Baseball America staff. That last ingredient is a key one, because when it comes to ranking this many players, not everyone always agrees on how to best line up the top prospects in the sport.
With that in mind, we’re presenting a selection of personal Top 50 rankings so BA subscribers can see exactly how our staff approached making the list for 2026.
