Top 500 High School Rankings For 2026

For the latest update to Baseball America’s ranking of the top high school players in the 2026 class, we’re making a big leap—a real big one—and expanding the board to 500 players.

Expanded prep rankings on their own would be noteworthy, but for this update, BA is also proud to introduce our first-ever star rating system for the very best high school players in the 2026 class as broken down into five-, four- and three-star groups.

Explaining The New Star System & Every Player Who’s Rated

With BA’s new star rating system, we’re hoping to provide a clearer, more accessible way to evaluate high school players and their potential at the college level. Our star ratings will group players into tiers based on their projected impact in college baseball, helping fans understand not just where a player might play, but how he is likely to contribute once he gets there.
