Top 500 Draft Prospects For 2025

Baseball America is back with another update to our 2025 MLB Draft rankings.

Our May update expands the draft rankings to 500 players and features new names and tweaks throughout the list based on industry feedback and player performances.

The 2025 class is a deep group, but one that lacks much separation at the very top. In particular, scouts have lamented the quality of the highest-caliber college hitters in the class.

After ranking No. 2 overall on our previous list, Oklahoma high school shortstop Ethan Holliday moves up to grab the top spot. In general, the high school hitting talent of the class stands out, especially compared to an extremely light 2024 crop of preps.

Top 25 Draft Prospects To Know In The NCAA Tournament

This year’s NCAA Tournament field is chock-full of MLB Draft prospects. With that in mind, Peter Flaherty has ranked the top 25 names to watch, regardless of class, when you flip on regional games this weekend. Highlights include:

  • The top-rated player in last year’s transfer portal

  • A UCLA SS who was “the most impressive underclassman in the country”

  • A top underclass arm who has Florida primed for a potential run
