Top 31 DSL Prospects, NCAA Newcomers
Plus: Arizona Fall League action kicks off Monday and new MLB free agency rankings
Ranking The Top 31 — Yes, 31 — Dominican Summer League Prospects In 2024
The Dominican Summer League is the largest of all the minor leagues. It encompasses 52 teams, which is nearly half of the entirety of all domestic full-season teams combined. Several clubs have two teams in the league, making the task of getting a complete picture of the circuit incredibly difficult.
Even so, there were more than a few players who stuck out to scouts patrolling the league this summer. The league was topped by Brewers shortstop Jesus Made—a 17-year-old who is already earned himself a place in BA’s Top 100—and featured several players from the Guardians, Cardinals and Orioles.

Ranking College Baseball’s Top 10 Newcomer Classes For 2025
Each fall, Baseball America takes stock of new faces in new places in college baseball.
Between the transfer portal and traditional freshman recruiting classes, college teams have multiple avenues to improvement. Transfers from other schools are more likely to make an impact in their first season, but there are always a handful of freshmen who establish themselves as household names in year one.
To get the most accurate read on which college programs have the best incoming talent on their roster heading into 2025, BA has combined each program’s transfer haul and recruiting class—as determined by the 2024 BA 500 draft ranking—to come up with an overall ranking of newcomers.

2024 Arizona Fall League Opening Day Schedule
There is just one game–Mesa hosts Surprise–on Monday. The slate cranks up on Tuesday, and all six teams are in action Wednesday. Here’s the breakdown:
Monday, Oct. 7
Mesa @ Surprise — 6:30 p.m. MT
Tuesday, Oct. 8
Peoria @ Glendale — 1:30 p.m. MT
Scottsdale @ Salt River — 6:30 p.m. MT
Wednesday, Oct. 9
Salt River @ Glendale — 1:30 p.m. MT
Peoria @ Surprise — 1:30 p.m. MT
Mesa @ Scottsdale — 6:30 p.m. MT
