Top 200 Draft Prospects For 2025

Plus: How MLB scouting departments grade the class, All-Americans & more.

New MLB Draft Rankings Entering The Spring

We can’t wait for the Division I Opening Day to get here.

Just under two weeks from the start of the season, we expanded our big board to 200 draft prospects today, complete with full scouting reports, tool grades & more. The Top 200 represents something of a starting point — as always, players will rise and fall as they unlock new gears, sharpen skills, add physicality, get injured or regress.

This year’s class is deep, even if MLB teams don’t see an obvious clear strength so far either. See where Ethan Holliday, Jace LaViolette, Seth Hernandez & others rank in today’s update below.

MLB Scouting Departments Size Up The 2025 Draft Class

For the fifth consecutive year, we went to MLB scouting departments to get an early temperature on the talent that will soon enter pro ball.

So far, the bulk of the industry isn’t overly bullish on the overall talent in this class, but there’s plenty of opportunities for the depth to improve this spring. Here’s what a dozen scouting directors had to say, including…

  • How Ethan Holliday compares to other top preps

  • Seth Hernandez matches up with the likes of Lesko, Jobe & Painter

  • Does this class have a pure hitter on par with 2024?

Preseason College, High School All-Americans

We also annually poll MLB scouting directors to vote on All-Americans across both college and high school. They are asked only that they make their selections based on performance, talent and professional potential. Because scouting directors drive our preseason teams, they have become a strong predictor of first-round draft potential.

Nine of the 14 eligible first team members from the 2024 preseason college team team became first-round picks.

Below, check out this year’s selections, headlined by unanimous first-teamer Jamie Arnold.
