WHO DIDN’T MAKE THE CUT?
20 Prospects Who Just Missed The Top 100
Once the MLB season gets going, players on our preseason Top 100 list will begin to graduate and become big leaguers. Others will see their prospect stock drop as a result of injury or underperformance.
Either way, as part of our ranking process, we have a ready-made list of replacement players who came close to making the Top 100 and are waiting just outside the cutline to slide into vacated spots.
When changes inevitably happen, these 20 near-misses will be ready to become Top 100 Prospects.
PROSPECTS TO WATCH IN 2026
Top 100 Players Primed To Rise In 2026
A key factor in determining who makes our Top 100 list is projection for future growth. As the best prospects in the world, we expect many of these players to make cases for being moved higher and higher up the list.
The list of players we’ve highlighted as potential risers the last few years is littered with impact names such as Leo De Vries, Sebastian Walcott, Bubba Chandler, Thomas White, Colt Emerson & many more. With that in mind, here are top 10 players who have the strongest chances to make their own rankings rise in 2026.
HOW WE RANK PROSPECTS
All 219 Prospects Receiving Votes
As part of the process for constructing our Top 100 list, BA staffers submit rankings of their own personal top 150 prospects. From these compiled lists, we then whittle the player pool down to the final top 100 players by way of industry feedback, data analysis and internal debate.
For 2026, no fewer than 219 prospects appeared on those initial top 150 staff lists. Click below to see the full rundown organized by team.
