Earlier this week, Baseball America’s Ben Badler published a story examining what’s really happening with age fraud in Latin America in light Cesar Altagracia’s reported age discrepancy nullifying an unofficial contract agreement with the Padres.

Today, Ben joined Carlos Collazo on the Future Projection podcast to discuss how MLB’s investigative unit has gained a newfound effectiveness over the last 18 months. The result? A significant rise in crackdowns that, while alarming, doesn’t necessarily correlate to a rise age fraud itself.

Baseball America’s Dylan White is back with a follow-up to his breakdown of the top minor league Hit+ performers by age group in 2024 with a companion piece highlighting pitchers with the best raw and normalized Stuff+ numbers.

Standouts from the seven age brackets include:

  • A pair of Top 25 overall prospects in the age-21 group
