GETTING READY FOR RULE 5 DRAFT SEASON
Top Players To Know For The Rule 5 Draft
With the 40-man roster deadline now passed, Baseball America’s initial 2024 MLB Rule Draft preview is here.

Highlights include:
A Rangers first baseman who slashed .277/.370/.469 at Triple-A this season and was a prominent figure in last year’s Rule 5 preview
An injury-bitten Twins outfielder with legitimate power and the chance to be an everyday big leaguer
A 24-year-old Dodgers prospect whose 108.9 mph 90th percentile EV ranks third-highest among Rule 5-eligible players

40-MAN ROSTER DEADLINE COVERAGE
Baseball’s annual 40-man roster deadline is something of a holiday here at Baseball America. As such, our staff provided day-long coverage of each and every roster addition Tuesday. Here’s what you may have missed:
We provided instant analysis for all 60 players added to 40-man rosters before the 6 p.m. deadline.
J.J. Cooper looked at five first-round draft picks whose prospect stock has sunk enough to warrant being left unprotected.
On the other end of the spectrum, Mark Chiarelli ran down 10 of the more notable names added to 40-man rosters, including several prospects who landed on BA’s Top 100.
