To-Do Lists For All 30 Teams Heading Into 2025

As the calendar flips over to 2025, you might find yourself making a list of things to do in the new year.

Lose some weight. Read more books. Pick up a new hobby. Go to bed earlier.

If you’re an MLB team, you probably have a few items on your 2025 to-do list, too. Whether it’s getting over the hump to challenge for a World Series, making a few moves to get in the playoff hunt or just finding a way to become competitive in 2025 and beyond, there isn’t a club out there that doesn’t have at least few key things on their to-do list this year.

With that in mind, we’ve put together to-do list suggestions for all 30 teams heading into 2025.

NCAA Set To Intensify In-Game Foreign Substance Checks

With coaches from around the country gathered in Washington D.C. this week for the American Baseball Coaches Association’s annual convention, Baseball America is on the scene to report on the latest potential rule changes coming to the college game.

One such change, BA’s Jacob Rudner writes, comes in the form of policing foreign substances by way of expanded in-game checks and newly-defined punishments for sticky stuff offenders.

One coach told Baseball America he believes his team saw “no fewer than a dozen” scenarios in which opposing pitchers showed signs of utilizing a stickier substance than allowed to boost their arsenal, but all “just got away with it.”

College Baseball Coaches Approve Path To 38-Man Fall Rosters

Come 2026, the implementation of a 34-man roster limit figures to shake up college baseball and create a brave new world for coaches looking to build successful programs in the modern college athletics landscape.

On Friday, Baseball America’s Jacob Rudner reported that those same coaches gathered at the ABCA convention decided to to something about it and prepare for the coming change by way of approval for expanded fall ball rosters.
