Texas A&M Leads Our Preseason Top 25
Baseball America’s preseason Top 25 for the upcoming college baseball season is officially here.
Topping this year’s list is Texas A&M, which is led by College Player of the Year hopeful and potential No. 1 overall MLB Draft pick Jace LaViolette. Despite finishing runner-up in the College World Series last season and losing head coach Jim Schlossnagle to rival Texas, the rebounding Aggies are primed for big things in 2025.

Typically, position players tend to be favored on our annual preseason Top 100 prospects rankings. But, as Matt Eddy writes, that wasn’t the case with this year’s Top 100, which features six pitchers ranked inside our top 10 for just the fourth time in over three an half decades.
It begs the question: Is this year’s Top 100 a statistical anomaly, or are we entering into a new age of pitching dominance?
