The 2026 Prospect Handbook Is Coming Soon: Preorder Your Copy Now
As we head into Christmas week, the Baseball America staff is anything but slowing down.
Behind the scenes, our writers and editors are hard at work putting the finishing touches on the 2026 Prospect Handbook to make sure this year’s edition meets the same lofty standards our readers have come to expect from BA year after year.
From updated top 30 prospect rankings for every team to international scouting reports, org talent rankings and Rule 5 draft results, the Prospect Handbook is the ultimate resource for baseball fans and prospect aficionados.
If you haven’t done so already, now is the perfect time to preorder the 2026 Prospect Handbook, which comes with a free digital version when you buy the print copy. It makes a great holiday gift for the baseball nut in your life, too!
Our Prospect Handbook is available for preorder now, and you can also get our other book offerings (2026 Almanac and Directory) bundled together for just $99.
Want to know more about the Prospect Handbook? Here’s J.J. Cooper and Geoff Pontes breaking down how the 2026 edition came together:
DYNASTY TARGETS
Dynasty Outfielders: Top Targets, Sleepers & Fades
On the heels of our top 130 outfielders and utility players for dynasty baseball in 2026, Geoff Pontes and Dylan White are diving deeper on some of the list’s most intriguing names.
We provide some OF targets who will likely improve their value by next offseason, plus some sleepers you should take a shot on before the rest of your league catches up. We round out the group with two fades who might be at the peak of their value right now.
RAYS RESTOCK
Rays Add Six Top 30 Prospects In Trades
If the hot stove season had felt a little lukewarm heading into the back half of December, the Rays did their part to turn up the heat on Friday.
In what looks to be a substantial reshaping of their farm system, the Rays have reportedly agreed to a pair of trades—one with Orioles and another involving the Pirates and Astros—that will net them no less than six prospects ranked 17th or better in BA’s latest 2026 rankings.
Tampa Bay’s haul includes top 10 org names like Jacob Melton (Astros’ No. 1), Anderson Brito (Astros’ No. 3) and Michael Forret (Orioles’ No. 8), as well as a pair of 2025 first-round draft picks in Slater de Brun (Orioles’ No. 12) and Caden Bodine (Orioles’ No. 16) and Austin Overn (Orioles’ No. 17).
Here’s everything to know, including scouting reports for every player moved:

BA draft expert Carlos Collazo continues his offseason scouting series with a deep dive into the profile of Georgia Tech outfielder Drew Burress.
One of the most productive college stars in the country the last two years, Burress comes both with big tools to dream on and a small frame that has draft evaluators split on his future projection as a professional.
