Top 500 MLB Draft Rankings Update

With the MLB draft now only six weeks away, Baseball America presents the latest update to our 2026 rankings expanding the board to the top 500 players in the class.

While this update is primarily about growing our list rather than dramatically changing the rankings at the top of the class, there’s still some notable movement on the board as a result of the latest player performances, injury news and industry feedback from across the country.

Risers, Fallers & New Additions To The May Draft Rankings Update

There’s less up/down movement at the top of the draft board this time of year, especially since our previous update had already captured most of the in-season progress and performance from the draft class at large.

Still, we’re always tinkering and tweaking as we solicit more feedback from scouts and executives in an attempt to line up players as best we can. The result is our best projection yet of how teams are stacking up this year’s top draft prospects. Highlights include:

An SEC shortstop on the fringe of the top 10
An Ole Miss RHP jumping a whopping 120 spots
8 helium names added inside the top 200

Karson Milbrandt Tops The Hot Sheet

Baseball America’s Hot Sheet ranks the hottest prospects from the previous week while also identifying a weekly helium player to keep tabs on.

This week’s Hot Sheet is topped by Karson Milbrandt, who became the most recent addition to BA’s Top 100 and then backed up the honor by spinning his latest gem. The 22-year-old righthander established a new career high with 12 strikeouts over six shutout innings. All told, Milbrandt has 40 strikeouts and just five walks over 24 one-run innings in May.
