New Top 100 Prospects

Roman Anthony is one of the big winners of today's update. Plus: Check out our new Hot Sheet, Statcast Standouts & more.

Our September Top 100 Update Is Here

Baseball America’s final significant in-season Top 100 Prospects update has arrived, and the list has quite a new look as we barrel toward the offseason.

Following more than six weeks of additional reporting and conversations with MLB scouts, front office officials and more, we have updated our list to account for new intel, player movement and graduations. There are plenty of changes to cover, including a new No. 1 prospect, significant risers in the Red Sox, Rockies and Rangers systems, plus a bevy of new additions at the back of the list.

These are the teams with the most Top 100 Prospects entering September.

  • Mariners (8)

  • Tigers (7)

  • Red Sox (6)

  • Cubs (6)

  • Guardians (6)

You can see the full list below, including new skinnies for nearly every player.

ROMAN ANTHONY SURGES UP THE TOP 100

How The Top Red Sox Prospect Is More Than Just An Elite Power Hitter

For the second consecutive season, Roman Anthony has put a slow start behind him.

The Red Sox top prospect has reached Triple-A and is on yet another tear, vaulting himself up today’s Top 100 in the process and putting him in position to potentially land the coveted No. 1 spot before the end of the season if Junior Caminero graduates.

Baseball America’s Geoff Pontes recently chatted with Anthony about his strong season, his Futures Game experience, his evolution into a complete hitter and far more below.

P.S. Since today is a Hot Sheet day — you can see this week’s installment below — we also wanted to revisit one from roughly 18 months ago, where Anthony first emerged as a potential helium candidate outside the Top 100 worth keeping an eye on. Baseball America’s Josh Norris was dialed into that one.

NEW HOT SHEET

Ranking The 20 Hottest MLB Prospects

High-A Eugene and Everett treated us to some awe-inspiring fireworks last week, but no prospect’s star burned brighter than Bryce Eldridge. The sweet-swinging Giants slugger headlines this week’s Hot Sheet after a monstrous five-homer week, bringing his season total to 22.

Today’s Hot Sheet also includes another sleeper in the Giants system, plus impressive showings from players in the Mariners, Yankees and Cubs systems.
