New Mock Draft, Major NCAA Top 25 Updates & More

See the players rising draft boards early in 2024, plus significant chance in the Top 25 after college baseball's most exciting weekend to date.

Our First Mock Draft Of The 2024 Season

Welcome to the first in-season MLB mock draft for the 2024 class.

The college season is just five weeks old. Many high school players in the northern parts of the country haven’t even started their season. But there’s already significant player movement and a drastically different looking mock draft than our first complete attempt in December.

As we always mention at this stage of the calendar, it’s likely too early to feel confident in any specific player/team connections with four months still to go before the draft. Teams at the top always cast a wide net on targeted looks this far out. That is especially true in a wide open 2024 draft class.

A few players have made strong early-season pushes for the top spot, though. Baseball America subscribers can see how the full first round plays out, including a new favorite to go No. 1 overall, below.

Vandy, Clemson Rise New NCAA Top 25

This was a wild weekend of college baseball. While Arkansas remains in pole position of today’s NCAA Top 25, plenty changed behind the Razorbacks.

Vanderbilt rides a 13-game winning streak to the No. 2 position and Clemson is close behind. Those two programs are among several making big leaps this week, including both Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Four new teams enter the Top 25 with NC State, Auburn, Texas and Texas Tech all dropping out. You can see all the changes below.
