STATCAST STANDOUTS
Forrest Whitley, Tony Blanco Jr. & More Statcast Standouts
Are the Rays at it again? It certainly appears that way.
The star of today’s Statcast Standouts installment is Forrest Whitley, who years ago ranked as one of the top prospects in the sport. It has been quite an odyssey since then for the 6-foot-7 righthander, who was designated for assignment earlier this season by the Astros. The Rays swooped in and, as Eli Ben-Porat details today, have helped Whitley make some significant adjustments to his pitch usage that’s leading to quite interesting results in Triple-A.
Whitley isn’t the only player catching our attention. Check out updated data from Pirates slugger Tony Blanco Jr., Eli’s new prospect crush, the next potential great Braves pitching prospect and so much more.
