Ranking The Top 50 Prep Prospects In the 2026 Draft Class

With the summer circuit underway, it’s time to update our rankings of the top 2026 MLB Draft prospects in the high school class.

It’s shaping up to be a strong class, even after three of the premier players—lefthander/first baseman Kruz Schoolcraft, shortstop Eli Willits and infielder/outfielder Quentin Young—all reclassified to be eligible for the 2025 draft. The top of the class is talented up the middle, particularly in the infield, with six shortstops ranked among the top 10 prospects.

Stanford has four recruits in the top 50, the most of any school, led by shortstops Tyler Spangler and Alex Harrington. With NCAA rule changes last year that prevent college coaches from contacting players prior to Aug. 1 of their junior year, many of the premier players are still available, with 24 of the top players uncommitted, including four of the top 10. So while some players made their college commitments early prior to the rule changes, Aug. 1 will be a busy day this summer.

The state with the most top 50 prospects is California with nine. Florida and Texas high schools each have eight, while Georgia has seven.

Below are our rankings of the top 2026 MLB Draft prospects in the prep class with scouting reports on every player.
