Mock Draft 5.0: Latest First-Round Pick Predictions For Every Team
With the College World Series and MLB Draft Combine in the rearview mirror, Baseball America draft expert Carlos Collazo is back with his latest mock draft featuring updated picks for the first 43 players expected off the board two weekends from now.
Inside the first 10 picks, much could come down to whether teams want to go for high school shortstops or college pitchers. A majority of teams in this range seem to be heavily linked to both demographics, and if they all come down on one side or another, there could be a handful of surprising names still on the board coming out of the top 10.
NEW HOT SHEET
Colson Montgomery Tops This Week’s Hot Sheet
Baseball America’s Hot Sheet ranks the 20 hottest prospects from the previous week while also identifying a weekly helium player to keep tabs on.
The latest Hot Sheet is topped by White Sox shortstop Colson Montgomery, who, after some scuffling with Triple-A Charlotte, is starting to show some positive signs. Last week, the 23-year-old slashed .500/.522/1.227, had four multi-hit games in a row and smashed four home runs.
As always, we’ll be hosting our weekly Hot Sheet Show on YouTube at 3:30 p.m. ET on Monday followed by a Hot Sheet prospects chat on Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET.
