Mock Draft 3.0: Updated First-Round Predictions For Every Team

Baseball America is back with our third MLB mock draft of the year.

We’re two months out from the 2025 draft and, in a typical year, this is about when we’d start to have a better picture of the tier of players in consideration to be picked first overall. This year, however, is far from typical.

In conversations with decision-makers over the last few weeks, this year’s class is being described as one of the most muddled and lacking in separation that teams have seen in years. Teams picking at the top are scrambling to get as many looks as possible on essentially all of the top players in the class.

LATEST HOT SHEET

Braden Montgomery Tops This Week’s Hot Sheet

Baseball America’s Hot Sheet ranks the 20 hottest prospects from the previous week while also identifying a weekly helium player to keep tabs on.

After getting the bump up from Low-A, 22-year-old outfielder Braden Montgomery has continued to wreck shop for the White Sox at the High-A level. Montgomery, who came over in the trade with the Red Sox for Garrett Crochet, hit three home runs last week and has gotten on base in all but one of the 11 games he’s played with Winston-Salem since the promotion.

As always, we’ll be hosting our weekly Hot Sheet Show on YouTube at 3:30 p.m. ET on Monday followed by a Hot Sheet prospects chat on Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET.

Week 13 College Baseball Top 25 Rankings

Georgia couldn’t buck recent trends and spent just one week as college baseball’s top-ranked team before a weekend series loss to then-No. 25 Alabama opened the door for LSU to become the sixth No. 1 team of 2025.

The Tigers top the poll after taking two of three games against then-No. 3 Arkansas in their penultimate regular season series, which allowed them to reach 40 total wins for the fourth time in as many years under head coach Jay Johnson.

Oklahoma and Arizona exited the rankings and were replaced by returnee Southern Miss and rankings newcomer UTSA.

HOT SHEET SHOW TODAY AT 3:30 P.M. ET

The Hot Sheet Show airs new episodes every Monday at 3:30 p.m. ET on the Baseball America YouTube channel.

Each week, we go live to chat about the latest baseball news, prospect analysis, player interviews & lots more.

  • Jacob Misiorowski’s secret for better command

  • Otto Kemp’s major league comp

  • A former Top 100 prospect who is finally pitching again

ROBOSCOUT’S PICKS

RoboScout’s Top Fantasy Prospects At Every Level

One of RoboScout’s industry separators from other stat-based prospect models is that it incorporates minor league Statcast data from all levels, not just Triple-A and the Low-A Florida State League.

RoboScout discerns whether superficial performance data is supported by underlying metrics such as contact percentage, 90th percentile exit velocity barrel rates to make more informed prospect evaluation decisions.

For the first time this season, RoboScout is also folding MiLB Statcast hitting data into its player computations.
