With both the College World Series and MLB draft combine in the books, Baseball America presents our fifth mock draft of the season.
The theme of this latest mock is “safety with college bats,” as BA draft expert Carlos Collazo has heard about a number of college hitters moving up the board in recent weeks as teams start to feel more comfortable with the demographic. Henry Lalane Tops This Week’s Hot Sheet
Baseball America’s Hot Sheet ranks the hottest prospects from the previous week while also identifying a weekly helium player to keep tabs on.
This week’s Hot Sheet is topped by Yankees lefthander Henry Lalane, who after a long period of rehab and recovery from a shoulder injury that plagued him for the better part of two seasons, appears to be all the way back. His turn last week was the best of his career. Facing Dunedin, he used a four-pitch mix to spin seven one-hit shutout innings with a career-high 12 strikeouts.
