Marcelo Mayer Tops This Week’s Hot Sheet
Baseball America’s Hot Sheet ranks the 20 hottest prospects from the previous week while also identifying a weekly helium player to keep tabs on.
The final Hot Sheet of April is topped by Red Sox shortstop and No. 12 overall prospect Marcelo Mayer. The 22-year-old reached base in all six games last week and recorded hits in five of six. He slugged home runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, pushing his season total to seven over the first month.
As always, we’ll be hosting our weekly Hot Sheet Show on YouTube at 3:30 p.m. ET on Monday followed by a Hot Sheet prospects chat on Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET.
