Have The Yankees Found Hidden Gold?

Plus: Hot Sheet, Angeibel Gomez's comparables & more

Statcast Standouts: Yankees Reclamation Projects

There was a time when Antonio Gomez and Marco Luciano were both intriguing prospects, but Gomez’s inability to hit and Luciano’s struggles defensively and at the plate derailed their developments.

Now Gomez is pitching and the Yankees have moved Luciano to second base. In this week’s Statcast Standouts, Eli Ben-Porat looks at the promising indicators for both of the one-time prospects. Gomez’s development is especially intriguing. The one-time catching prospect has one of the best arms in the Yankees’ system as a pitcher.

He also marvels at Phillies outfielder Caden Bogenpohl’s power and takes an in-depth look at Cardinals pitching prospect Jurrangelo Cijtnje.

HOT SHEET 🔥

Braves’ Dixon Williams Tops The Hot Sheet

Some weeks, there are way too many players to fit onto the Hot Sheet, and then there are weeks where everything feels a bit more jumbled. This was one of those weeks, as Braves’ High-A Rome center fielder Dixon Williams monster weeked that saw him hit five home runs in two days with back-to-back four-hit games put him on top of the Hot Sheet this week. Williams is not the top prospect to stand out this week, but he was the hottest prospect of the week. Keep a very close eye on Phillies DSL outfielder Francisco Renteria, who sits No. 2 on this week’s Hot Sheet as he added to a very impressive DSL season with a monster week.
