Bowman Chrome 2025: Everything To Know

If you're into prospects and baseball cards, today is a day you've likely had circled on your calendar for a long time—Bowman Chrome 2025 release day!

But don’t take our word for it.

“Bowman Chrome is one of the most anticipated releases of the year,” Thomas Fish, co-owner of Blowout Cards, told Baseball America. “The biggest stars in MLB mix with the hottest prospects, and our customers can’t get enough of it. There’s something for everyone in this set, from autographs to inserts like Garbage Pail Kids. And the new International Auto set this year, along with the addition of the “Shoeless” Joe Jackson chase, will only make it more exciting."

The new Bowman Chrome set is available for order on the Topps website now. Hobby boxes will cost $299.99 with 12-box cases also available. Fanatics will carry Bowman Chrome hobby boxes, as well, and you can also preorder Bowman Chrome Mega Boxes, which will release on Oct. 8. Collectors can also get boxes at retail sites, like from our friends at Blowout Cards or your local card shop. And remember, you can only get Breakers Delight boxes at retailer sites and in online breaks, as the Topps and Fanatics websites do not sell them.

Along the way, Baseball America is here to make an already special day even better.

Below, we've compiled resources for the deepest dive you’ll find anywhere on prospects and teams to focus in the new set. We’ve even got some discount codes to save a few bucks if you want to dive into your first break today.

So, be sure to scroll through our Bowman Chrome 2025 preview below and check out BA’s complete archive of collectibles coverage here.

BOWMAN CHROME CHECKLIST

An Inside Look At The 2025 Checklist

We'll start with a deep dive into the 2025 checklist.

Last month, Matt Pajak offered BA subscribers a comprehensive analysis of this year’s list, which includes many of the hottest prospects in the sport. Returning for 2025 Bowman Chrome are popular inserts such as Garbage Pail Kids and Spotlight (and there are even autographed Garbage Pail Kids this year), along with new features such as International Refractors.

Matt's story’s takes you beyond the prospects that everyone knows to provide insight on the players and teams worth targeting as you rip in the days and weeks to come. Inside, you’ll find breakdowns on:

  • The most famous names in the set

  • How the Bowman Red Rookie Redemption program works

  • Top inserts to chase

  • Players we’re hunting

  • Teams to target & breaker value tiers

BOWMAN CHROME BREAKERS

What To Know For Live Breaks & Deals

Baseball America’s J.J. Cooper and Seth Mates recently joined We The Hobby's “The Hobby Never Sleeps” podcast to discuss 2025 Bowman Chrome, including prospects and teams you might not yet be thinking about, an in-depth look at this year's red hot International Refractors chase and why you might want to show some love to the Padres in breaks this year.

Speaking of breaks, here’s some more info to keep in mind:

  • Want to join a We The Hobby break this week? They're offering the Baseball America audience a special deal for first-time breakers who want to join them on Fanatics Live. Sign up through this link and save $25 on your first break!

  • Fanatics Live has placed a bounty on the superfractor version of six different cards in the set, including one for a $5,000 bounty on the 1/1 Shohei Ohtani Garbage Pail Kid card. This means that if you pull that card in a Fanatics Live break, you win $2,500 in Fanatics Live breaker credit (and you get to keep the card) while someone in the room where the card is pulled will also win $2,500 in breaker credit, even if they’re just there to watch. The other cards have $2,000 credit bounties, such as the 1/1 Aaron Judge and Bryce Harper GPK superfractors, and the 1/1 auto superfractors of Shotaro Morii, Josuar Gonzalez and Rainiel Rodriguez.

  • Baseball America is also once again partnering with our friend Stryker Breaks for his release day breaks. He'll be breaking Bowman Chrome starting at 2 p.m. ET today live on the Stryker Breaks Youtube channel (and you can sign up to join his breaks on his Patreon page).

  • BA is also teaming up with Midwest Box Breaks for a special deal in which first-time customers can use code BOWMAN to save $10 on Bowman Chrome PYT breaks (you'll need to create an account on their website).Be keep your eyes peeled for a special guest or two from Baseball America during their stream!

AN EXCITING NEW CHASE

The “Shoeless” Joe Jackson Chase

In addition to today’s up-and-coming prospects, one of the biggest chases in 2025 Bowman is a ballplayer who was born in 1887.

Yes, the legendary “Shoeless” Joe Jackson will have his first-ever Topps card as a short print in the set. Jackson, who was famously banned from baseball for his alleged role in the 1919 Chicago Black Sox scandal, will appear as a member of the Philadelphia Athletics, the team with which he started his pro career in 1907.

Retrofractors featuring legends’ “First Bowman” cards have gained in popularity in recent years. Among the players who have been featured are Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Reggie Jackson, Sandy Koufax, Pete Rose and Steve Carlton. Upon the release of the Gehrig retrofractor last year, retailer Dave & Adam’s placed a $100,000 bounty on the 1/1 superfractor version of the card, which was pulled in a card shop in Georgia last November.
