Plus: Top 200 HS rankings for 2026, 10 prospects who could be traded & more
While it will be years before the ramifications of the 2025 MLB Draft are known in full, it’s never too early to dig into some draft class reviews.
With that in mind, Baseball America draft expert Carlos Collazo has compiled team-by-team breakdowns for all 30 organizations featuring overarching theme analysis and scouting reports for each teams’s most interesting day-two picks.
Also be sure to listen to the latest episode of Future Projection, in which Carlos and Ben Badler discuss the draft hauls of all 30 teams.
TOP HS PROSPECTS
Top 200 HS Players For 2026
Now that the 2025 MLB Draft is over, BA is proud to present our updated ranking of the top 200 high school players in the 2026 class.
The 2026 class is the best group of prep prospects since 2023, blending both high-end, impact talent with depth. The top two players in the class are a pair of shortstops in Grady Emerson (Texas commit) and Jacob Lombard, who is uncommitted. Both players look like potential early first-round picks.
Considering that four of the top five players in our 2025 HS rankings from this time last year were first-round picks and 11 of the top 15 were day-one picks, we think it would be a good idea to study the new HS list pretty closely.

We also highlight other intriguing names outside the Top 100 who could be included in deals, plus a few prominent prospects in unusual situations worth monitoring.

Drawing from our undrafted free agent tracker, Jacob Rudner presents his list of “Rud’s Buds" to highlight his 10 favorite undrafted free agent signings along with four unsigned players who still stand out as worthy potential additions.
