With the 2025 season wrapping up, we can begin to look back on the past five-plus months of minor league games and draw some conclusions. The sample size of data available is now standardized, allowing us to view certain metrics with a greater degree of confidence.

One such tool we use when identifying potential breakout candidates is our propriety internal Stuff+ metric, which is based on sourced minor league data. Using this metric, Geoff Pontes has combed 2025 numbers to compile a list of nine need-to-know sleeper pitching prospects whose normalized Stuff+ scores are worth monitoring.

Following last week’s piece analyzing the top 10 newcomer classes, we’re taking a look at 10 portal classes that are flying under the radar.

While reading, it’s important to keep in mind that “underrated” does not necessarily apply to the school itself. A few of the programs discussed are household names, yet their respective transfer classes—which could be the final piece to their Omaha puzzle—are perhaps being overlooked due to the fact that they fall into the “quality over quantity” bucket.

All in all, these 10 classes feature some intriguing names to know as programs look to gear up for postseason runs in 2026.
