50 Prospects Who Impressed Scouts On Spring Training Backfields

The culmination of Baseball America’s spring training coverage is finally here.

We’ve spent weeks watching games, tracking player performances and getting expert feedback from scouts spread across the backfields of Florida and Arizona. The result is an exhaustive list of buzzy names, under-the-radar risers and established prospect stars who have impressed this spring.

By now, this annual exercise has a proven track record of identifying future stars. Last year, we highlighted up-arrow names such as Leodalis De Vries, George Lombard Jr., Josue De Paula, Angel Genao, Jackson Ferris, Thomas White, Cooper Pratt, Arjun Nimmala and lots more. Potential breakout names from this year’s list include:

  • A Marlins catcher “with the potential to be one of the best backstops in the sport”

  • A Dodgers shortstop who was the toast of the DSL and is primed for a breakout

  • A talented RHP who could be the Mariners’ next pitching dev victory
