5 College Freshmen To Know For 2025

Last month, we wrote about 10 incoming freshmen who are poised to have impactful roles in their first year on campus. Today, Peter Flaherty returns with five more newcomers who fit the same bill as part of Baseball America’s lead up to a definitive top 25 freshmen ranking that will be released in the coming weeks.
Heading up the new list? That would be Japanese slugger Rintaro Sasaki, who will be bringing his 70-grade power to Stanford in 2025.

With the American Baseball Coaches Association Convention set to take place next month in Washington D.C., college baseball rule change proposals are on our mind.
To that end, Jacob Rudner spoke with ABCA executive director Craig Keilitz to get the skinny on five such potential rule changes, with interesting proposals ranging from expanded runner’s base usage and technology in the dugout to a crackdown on sticky stuff.

It’s not exactly breaking news that pitching injuries seem to be on the rise. On Tuesday, MLB published a new study to help explain why that might be.
Baseball America’s J.J. Cooper dug into the 63-page report—which features insight from hundreds of coaches, players, trainers, doctors and front office officials—and came away with a pair of interesting takeaways:
