30 Intriguing Spring Training Performances
Plus: 10 pitchers with velo gains, NCAA data standouts, scouting Derek Curiel & More
Intriguing Spring Training Performances For Every Team
Spring training is already rounding second, with just two weeks until teams break camp and head home for the start of the 2026 regular season.
With that in mind, we wanted to take a look at prospects (or recently graduated prospects who have yet to establish themselves in the big leagues) who have stood out for their performance or situation with each club this spring. Highlights include:
Several prospects looking to make Opening Day rosters
A breakout Red Sox candidate
An 18-year-old Giants SS getting MLB camp ABs
SPRING VELO GAINS
10 Pitching Prospects Showing Velocity Gains This Spring
With Grapefruit and Cactus League games underway and Statcast data now available for all games due to the ABS challenge system, it’s easier than ever to identify pitchers who made changes over the winter.
Velocity changes immediately stand out, as increased spring training radar readings can signal a potential breakout. Pitchers still must prove they can hold these gains into the regular season and sustain them over longer outings, but any pitcher with increased velocity is worth monitoring.
