25 Rising MLB Prospects To Know

With more than two months in the books, we’ve now seen enough of the 2026 season to take stock of prospects who have surged past expectations so far this year and risen up rankings.

Based on a mix of data, scouting insight and firsthand reporting, BA’s Ian Cundall has compiled a list of 25 of the most impressive and intriguing standouts so far. These are the players who have made the biggest tangible changes to their profile or are showing up as potential breakout candidates who could either join or rise in the Top 100.

50 NPI Tournament Standouts For The 2027, 2028 & 2029 High School Classes

Each year, the National Program Invitational run by Prep Baseball Report is one of the premier high school tournaments to start the summer, and this year’s event featured top names from the for the 2027, 2028 and 2029 classes.

BA’s Ben Badler was on hand at the NPI and presents a rundown of 50 players who stood out from across the three classes, including scouting reports and video.

ICYMI: Staff Draft 3.0 Goes 75 Players Deep

In a little over three weeks, we’ll officially know what MLB executives and evaluators thought of the 2026 draft class. Until then, we can only make educated guesses.

To that end, the BA staff got together earlier this week to present the third version of our annual staff draft featuring how the top 75 picks would play out if we were in charge of the league’s draft rooms.
