2026 Farm System Talent Rankings

For the third time in Baseball America history, the Pirates take the crown as the top-ranked organization in our annual preseason farm system talent rankings.

The Pirates, who also ranked first before the 2014 and 1997 seasons, enter 2026 with plenty of headline talent, none more highly touted than No. 1 overall prospect and reigning Minor League Player of the Year Konnor Griffin.

BA’s Preseason Field Of 64 Projection

We’re less than two weeks away from college baseball season and the start of road to Omaha. That means it’s time for our very first Field of 64 projection for the 2026 season, too.

Using the NCAA’s new 1-32 seeding format for this year, our projected bracket is led by No. 1 UCLA and features BA’s preseason college poll rounding out the top 25 seeds. The SEC leads the preseason field with 13 bids, followed by the ACC (nine), Big 12 (seven), Big Ten (four), Sun Belt (three), Big West (three) and American (two).
