At the end of each month during the season, BA prospect expert Geoff Pontes has been digging deep into player data to highlight 10 hitters and 10 pitchers whose performance metrics stood out above the rest.
For August, we got our last, best look at full-month showings for some of the top names in the game. A number of up-arrow players populate this month’s lists, including prospects who could now be in line 2026 debuts, like Diamondbacks outfielder Ryan Waldschmidt and Marlins lefthander Robby Snelling.

Since the first 2027 rankings were released in May, the college season has wrapped up and summer ball has come and gone. On top of star Florida sophomore Brendan Lawson ascending to the top spot, there was a fair amount of movement throughout the top 50.
